I had a conversation with Lindsay and I think her passion for this really struck a cord with me. Then I related what she said to my time as a Social Services Practitioner with the Department of Children’s Services in San Bernardino, California. Self-sufficiency with women---simply broken down to a woman feeling that she is worth something and having the means to assist her out a bad situation and be able to take care of herself and not be dependent on a situation that will not get better without assistance.

Continued advocacy for programs. Incorporating those “who have been there” as part of the program. Supporting someone through traumatic situations is so key, word of mouth that there is support goes a long way.
Being focused and aware of opportunities and being prepared for them is vital. Also understanding the hurdles of growth and that the discomfort along the way will be worth it.
2.- How can Fedcap leverage its business relationships in more effective ways? I would like to see the Fedcap brand noticed in the Rochester area, even into the Finger Lakes area where I live--- There are so many residential programs, day program with national and local brands. Many of these programs attempt workforce development, etc. but really do not have the tools or the staffing to enter into anything sustainable. They end up losing grants, etc. as well as the programs due to lack of follow-through. They do not have the innovative thinking that Fedcap has.
