I've been plugging away at these for sometime, so "new" is a relative term.
Some thoughts I've considered regarding Innovation as it relates to these new contracts:
Career Compass:
1. Subcontracting internship development to community-based agencies based upon assigned geographic areas/zip codes, language needs, special populations, or target sectors
2. We could sub out certain aspects of the DVE Evaluation component--we'd pay for this by the evaluation component provided
3. We could collocate our Compass staff at Career Advance locations
Career Advance--
1. We could solicit partnerships to increase the pool of training providers. We could utilize a fee for service structure, where the agency would provide us with an invoice for the services provided. We probably have to think of QA measures for this--i.e. proof of attendance for training and internships and proof of employment for placement/advancement.
2. We could also partner with community-based agency for employment/placement services. For instance if a client finds a job through another agency, we'd give a certain percentage of the milestone payment.
3. We could allow CBO job developers to be on site at our location.
4. Our orientation sessions could take the form of networking events to lay a foundation that emphasizes participation, presentation and the importance of relationships.

GREAT IDEA Amanda. We actually wrote a networking type event and personal branding into YouthPathways. I think that orientation should be about engagement at every level. We could leverage our Networking by Design efforts--- engaging Board, our professional contacts, staff from other areas...
